We do not have the facility to accept – Debit Cards, Credit Cards or PAYPAL payments

due to the Constitution of our Club with all monies having to be in the control of two signatories.

This makes the use of PAYPAL not possible.  The cost of setting up merchant services

is not feasible for us either.

If you do  not have a cheque book a postal order is still a viable alternative and readily available.

Perhaps not too original but we thought it would be rude to ignore the Worlds biggest sporting event of the year so get your running shoes spiffed up as the theme for the Saturday night will be The Olympics. Bet that was a surprise.

The site has been booked, the entertainments licence application is ready to send to the Council.

Having spent the last three days at the site promoting the weekend from our stand at the West of England Steal Societies 3 day Rally we are unable to begin our work until they have vacated the site, makes it interesting!

Pre bookings have now ended (31st July was the cut off) but, we have plenty of space to accommodate you on site if you arrive on spec on Friday,Saturday or Sunday so don’t worry, you will not miss out on the fun of pur 25th Jamboree.

This year we have striven to improve our allocation of camping space and along with the pre-booked Club pitches we will have allocated space for family camping for those with young children looking for a quieter space to pitch in.Be sure to ask when you arrive to be directed to the quieter area if this is your wish.

Don’t forget we have two special classes in this years Show & Shine on the Sunday. The first of these is the 1986 class for cars built or registered in 1986, the first year of the Jamboree. The second class is the Children’s pedal car class. This can be made of any material but must be pedal powered and have a VAG badge to qualify for entry. Get the kids interested early to keep the scene vibrant and alive.

If you like good food you will be in luck as we have a great selection of Caterers coming along to cater for your every need from oriental fare to roasts and the staple food of Cornwall the Pasty cooked on site by the Rippon family.

Liquid refreshment is also readily available with soft drinks from the catering area and alcoholic drinks for the grown ups from our fully stocked Bar in the marquee. There is also a sweet trailer with Candy floss within the trade stand area to keep the younger visitors happy.

Children have always been well catered for at the Jamboree and 2011 is no exception. In the Marquee we will have numerous sets from Richard Ready and Mr Wacky whose completely diverse styles of magic always enthrals the youngsters. When added to the activity workshps and the other entertainment available in the shape of bouncy csastles, electric go carts and laser tag etc there will be plenty to keep them happy in the safe environment of the show thanks to GSD Security and the extended VW family.

Live entertainment of Friday and Sunday evening with disco’s for the kids in the early evening and, of course, the themed Disco on Saturday to give you the chance to dress up in true 80′s fashion and let your hair down.

Toi make sure things run smoothly with everyone happy and safe there has to be a few rules. Please take to time to famiarise them from this sute before you come or, by reading your programme to make sure you keep on the right side of Security. We don;t want to ruin fun but some activities just cannot be permitted.

The use of BB Guns on site and their sale is prohibited. Better to keep both eyes we think.

The use of Chinese lanterns is prohibited too. They conyain wire and, can cause serious injury to cattle if they manage to ingest any part of them. We are in true agricultural territoty bafter all asnd must have due consideration for them.

We also ask that all radio’s, CD Players etc be turned off by midnight to avoid problems for fello campers and the local residents surrounding the site.

Enough of that! we want to see as many of you as possible at our great show. Plenty of fun for the whole family in a lovely setting and less that 1/2 an hour from either the North of the South coast of Cornwall should you wish to take a trip off site at some time.

We will have a local butcher calling to see us late on Friday and also at varying times on the Saturday and Sunday.

A local milkman will also be on site at least once on each of the three days too.

As this is our 25th event Richard felt it appropriate to have a special class for this year only featuring the vehicles that would have been new in the year of the first Jamboree in 1986.

So, if you have a 1986 vehicle we hope you will feel compelled to come along and enter the special class this year. Ideal for the Mk2 Golf, Scirocco, T25, Passat, etc etc if it was born in 1986, you are eligible to enter the class.

Last year we were approached by a proud parent who was being pestered by his young son who wanted to enter the show and shine in his pedal car. Of course Richard agreed and those present at the prize giving were entertained when Nigel interviewed to young lad as we found a trophy for him too.

This year the childrens pedal car class is official. To qualify the pedal car has to carry a ‘VW’ badge. To qualify it must be a pedal car capable of being driven by the child. So, come on Dad’s, get to work you still have time to build you offsprings chariot.

The Sunday will of course be extremely busy and Richard will need to have a cut off time for the entry to the show and shine field. Judging takes a considerable time and to give the judges a fair shot a viewing and making their assessment of the vehicles we m,ush adhere to Richards final decision of cut off time.

We urge you to be in the registration queue as near to 9.00am as possible please and be ready to complete the registration form and to make your own decision on the class you wish to enter. Our show and shine team just don’t have the time to talk entrants through this process so decide in advance, complete the form and keep requests for assistance to a minimum please.

As many of you will recall the show and shine area is, in normal times, used as the local football team’s pitch. For this reason and, to prevent potential harm to the vehicles on display we have some strict rules that will be enforced:

• No wheel spinning in the arena – you will be excluded
• No pedal cycles to be taken into the arena – to protect the vehicles
• No dogs allowed in the arena – to protect the vehicles and avoid possible fouling issues

This is a timely reminder that time is running short to secure the bargain of the year,
pre booked adult tickets for the whole three days of the show at just £19.86. This includes
camping on site and the organised entertainment.

If you arrive on the Friday and have not pre booked tickets will be available on the gate
and will cost £30.00 for the three days. Makes sense to book early and save over £10.00 a ticket!
This is the 25th Jamboree and we will have all the usual activities and some new attractions to
entertain our visitors. During the day entertainment leans a little towards the children with Mr Wacky
& Richard Ready with their quite different magic shows. Plus, Julia, with her Busy Bodies activity centre
for the youngsters and the amazing array of bouncy castles for kids of most ages.

Outside music sets during the day will be provided by Alan, The Belfast Busker, Ty, Mr T and this year
by popular request we have the return of Druids Brew.As ever, for the grown ups,we will have a full bar
available in the main marquee and in the evening we will have a live band on the Friday evening , a full
1980’s themed Disco/fancy dress on Saturday and, another great live act for your enjoyment on the Sunday.

In addition to the above we will have the following, and probably more on site:
Laser Tag
Rodeo Bull
Zorb Balls [subject to confirmation]
Electric Go Karts for the younger children
Poi fire shows
Ice Cream Van
Full Sweet Shop in a van

and much more!

The usual range of Traders will be with us during the day and we welcome auto jumble trading at this years show.

A wide range of food will be available from an excellent selection of caterers.

Kellys will be on hand with their Ice Cream Van and over the weekend John dower will be calling with his butchers
van and we will have a local milkman calling each day too.

On a more serious but equally important note, we will for everyone’s safety have full 24 hour on site security
provided by GSD to ensure there is no disruption caused by rowdy visitors and to keep control if there are a few who
consume too much amber fluid.

We also engage the services of a fully equipped and staffed paramedic unit to look after you should something happen.
Wasp stings seemed to be quite popular in 2010 I seem to remember.

Our venue is agricultural and borders farm land so, we doon health and safety grounds insist that:
•    There are no fireworks on site
•    No BB Guns to be sold or used [eyes are far to precious]
•    No Chinese Lanterns to be sold or used [contain wire that could harm cattle, are a fire hazard to tents and
awnings on site.

We hope to welcome you in your droves. Cornwall is unique really, where else can you enjoy 3 days of VW  jollity and the rest of
the week stay on and enjoy good fresh sea air, certainly not  following the Volksworld show, far too close to the M25 for my liking .
We have asked for fine weather like we had in 2010 and hope the ‘big boss’ has listened.

An in depth article will appear on the Jamboree 2011 page in due course once final decisions have been made but here is a brief bullet summary to be going on with.

1. There will be a special class in the show and shine’the class of 86′ to enter the vehicle must be a 1986
2. The theme for the event will also be the Class of 1986
3. There will be advanced tickets available in the New Year and, until June they will be priced at £19.86
for the whole weekend for Adults……………..what a bargain! Order by June for the discount.
4. We hope to use the same disco & stage provider last year.
5. Belfast Busker and Mr T will continue to entertain you on the grass in 2011 and, we also have Tim,
Druids Brew back with us in 2011 after their visits to Derbyshire the past couple of years.
6. Evening entertainment – bands yet to be confirmed for Friday & Sunday, Saturday will be a 1980′s fancy
dress disco evening. Bog hair, big boots and glam everywhere no doubt.
7. We will have a return of auto jumble trading this year – day entry plus £15 for the trade plot.
8. Plenty of entertainment for the younger members of the VW family – Mr Wacky, Richard Ready etc
9. A larger presence from the Bouncy Castle provider with added attractions for 2011
10. Zorb Balls subject to confirmation.
11. 2 man gyroscope may be available in 2011, could not attend at last minute in 2010
12. Usual excellent range of Catering
13. We hope to have a filled trading area for 2011
14. Plenty of showers and toilet facilities on site
15. Full Bar facilities will be available

As ever we are seeking new attractions for the show that are appropriate for a family event with children of all ages from 1 to 100 years catered for. After all, we are all children at heart, its just that our toys have gotten much bigger and more costly over the years lol.
